Ministries

Leader Melody Prinkleton

Our vision for Children’s Ministry is to guide our children to faith in Jesus as Lord and Savior. We will work to prepare them to serve God, love others, and grow in their understanding of the greatness and worth of Jesus Christ.

By God’s grace the Children’s Ministry will endeavor to:

Partner with parents in the nurture and discipleship of their children in the Lord by providing a variety of ministries that aid them in this process during their early parenting years.

Train and equip loving adults and teens to minister effectively to our children. We want to introduce the foundations of our faith, including concepts such as grace, sin, mercy, and justice, through age-appropriate curriculum and experiences.

Model for our children and parents healthy Christian relationships in the body of Christ, as we worship and serve together.

Provide opportunities for all families to be part of the church body. We want to give all our children a sense of belonging within the church family by including them in worship, missions, and outreach.

Leader Rosetta Benford

The purpose of this ministry is to improve and maintain communication between partners in marriage. To learn that a marriage based on a foundation of biblical principles, is not only workable, but offers the most fulfilling relationship humanly possible. It is meant to encourage and challenge couples, in their spiritual journey, by getting them into Gods word, and build their marriage God’s way.

As you put Gods plan into action with encouragement and grace you will grow in love for each other and the Lord. May the Lord richly bless you as you listen for and respond to his call, living on a higher plain then those around you. One of the cements that hold couples together is a joint commitment to God, common values and activities.

 MISSION STATEMENT

To support Christian marriage as an institution and to promote family values based upon Gods teachings and principles.

Leader Deacon James Rice

      • The primary objectives of the Deacons Ministry of Elim Baptist Church are rooted in biblical principles:
      • To assist the pastor in his mission and vision (Acts 6:3-4, I Timothy 2:7)
      • To be a shining example of Christian virtues (I Timothy 3:8-13, Philippians 4:8)
      • To be humble (I Peter 5:6, Galatians 5:13)
      • To establish a bond with people promoting openness, encouragement and trust (I Timothy 3:1-7. Galatians 5:22-25)

VISION:

Our goals are to be humble servants, workers in the church and community, and a living testimony and witness for Jesus. To this end we provide…

SERVICES:

We the Deacons of EBC are honored to be of service to the church family and the community.  We endeavor to:

      • Assist the Pastor in implementing his vision and programs.
      • Assist in carrying on the business of the church.
      • Assist in the worship, baptismal, and communion services.
      • Make visitations to the sick and shut-in members, providing spiritual and physical support.
      • Address the needs of those who request spiritual, physical and social help
      • Engage in church activities that promote evangelism and missionary service, promoting the Great Commission.
      • Our ministry is concisely summarized in our mission statement

 MISSION STATEMENT:

We exist to serve, to help, share, and care for the people of this congregation.  The Deacons of EBC, believe Jesus is the head of the church. He is Lord, Savior and Shepherd. We recognize our Pastor as the undershepherd of our folk, and we follow his leadership as he follows God. We humbly function as Personal Spiritual Assistants to ensure that every church family member receives  the attention, care,  support, and guidance for his/her spiritual growth.

Leader Sister Janice Drain

1 Peter 2:9-10 says; “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.”

In these verses, we see that the church is to be a living display of God’s glory, a people enraptured by that glory, proclaiming His “praises” to others, and dedicated to living corporately as “the people of God,” that is, “His own special people.” The teaching ministry of The Bridge Church seeks to fulfil the vision of 1 Peter 2:9-10 and move the church more and more toward becoming a living display of the God’s glory. To achieve this end, we must have certain fixed principles:

1) A commitment to the in-errancy of God’s Word (2 Tim. 3:16);

2) Faith in its profitability and power to save (Rom. 1:16), instruct, and thoroughly equip the church (2 Tim. 3:17)

3) A commitment to faithfully teaching the whole counsel of God without compromise (Acts 20:27)

4) Willingness to teach with “long-suffering” or patience (2 Tim. 4:2), rather than quitting or giving in to discouragement;

 5) A readiness to work hard (2 Tim. 2:15).

Leader Leontye Crayton

Our job is to have a heart for God eyes for video and an ear for sound

We know that faith comes from hearing and believe that spoken word and song are two of the most important tools for a church service. It is our goal as a media team to provide clear and intelligible sound that is transparent and distraction free to the listener. The goal of the church audio team is to provide audio that is worthy of the worship of Jesus Christ.

This goal is best accomplished by ministering to the technical, physical, and spiritual needs of those who have entrusted God’s Word to us (those ministering to the congregation) so that we can impart that message to the hearts and ears of the Body of Christ. When someone speaks, prays, or sings the Word of God, it flows through our system. Everything flows through us and flows out from us. If we’re not on top of our game for any time during that hour, it affects the entire service. We believe that the position of sound /video operator is an important mission of the church. We believe that equipping our media team with proper training, equipment and communication skills we can achieve our mission.

The Elim Baptist Church Vision for the Men’s Ministry is a life-impacting ministry for men, by men and with men; focusing on the transformation of their hearts resulting in living the victorious lives of Godly men and becoming disciples for Christ.

Our Mission is to equip men to live a godly life by serving their family, church, and community. EBC Men’s ministry seeks to empower men to:

      • Grow and live in a Christ-like manner
      • Develop an effective prayer life
      • Discover and put into use spiritual gifts
      • Build closer personal relationships through social activities

The Men’s ministry seeks to guide the men of the EBC by encouraging one another, serving those in need, and providing opportunities for spiritual outreach.

Our Purpose is to define authentic manhood.  In our society, being a man is confusing.  There are a number of definitions according to the world’s standards.  We will look at the Biblical call to be a real man as one who rejects passivity, accepts responsibility, leads courageously and invests in eternity.

Leader Senior Pastor Vincent E. James Sr.

The Elim Baptist Church Pastor’s Aide Ministry provides and/or assists the Pastor and his family with whatever he needs to carryout God’s mission of shepherding His people (ministry).  The ministry also supports the Pastor financially, spiritually, and emotionally, through a variety of activities and services that enhance the spreading of the Gospel of Jesus Christ (evangelism).

Our role includes extending love and support to the Pastor while he provides spiritual leadership/teaching (discipleship) to the members of EBC.  Such support ensures that the Pastor has more time to concentrate on his calling and exercise the gifts and/or talents God has equipped him with worship.  The Pastor’s Aide Ministry is responsible for various items and supplies being at the Pastor’s disposal to accommodate both his office and pulpit needs.

This ministry spearheads the church’s efforts in celebrating the pastor’s anniversary, birthday, and other special occasions.  Overall, the Pastor’s Aide Ministry extends spiritual care to the “angel” God sent to Elim Baptist Church.

Leader Trustee Uneka Darby

To ensure that all legal and business documents of Elim Baptist Church are in place and that the operations of the Church properly support the vision. The trustees are charged with leadership of the strategic planning, financial management, business administration, facilities, media, legal and personal functions that help undergird the church’s overall ministry. The Trustees serve as a partner to the senior pastor, concentrating on the business affairs of the church so that the pastor can concentrate on the development of the core ministries through which the church fulfills its mission. Trustees should be very spiritual-minded persons, always dependent of our awesome God to provide guidance in decisions that need to be made regarding the church.
